What is ViaCamera?

ViaCamera is an iPhone camera app that takes the photo for you. Set your phone down, step back and pose — ViaCamera fires the shutter when your face is in frame and your eyes are open. It takes real photos; it is not an AI image generator.

How it works

  1. Place your phone

Put your iPhone on a tripod, a shelf or anything steady, and open ViaCamera.

  2. Step back

Walk into the frame. There is no timer to race and no remote to hide.

  3. Pose

ViaCamera takes the photo when your face is in frame and your eyes are open.

Why ViaCamera

  • Phone with a dark screen resting on a leather notebook next to black headphones

    No timer, no remote

Set your phone down, step back and pose. There is no countdown to race and no remote to hold.

    How the auto shutter works
  • Woman with blonde hair and blue eyes looks toward the camera in soft daylight

It waits until it sees you

AI-FACE takes the photo when your face is in frame and your eyes are open. AI-BODY takes it when it sees you in frame.

    Compare the AI modes
  • Man with blond hair and freckles leans against a wall in a grey t-shirt

    Real photos, not AI-generated

ViaCamera only decides when to press the shutter. You get a normal photo from your iPhone camera; nothing is generated.
